Queensland Reds hooker Andrew Ready will line up tomorrow night at Allianz Stadium against the Waratahs, in Round One of the 2016 Super Rugby season.
Ready’s not a new face to Rugby aficionados; he played four matches for the Reds off the bench in 2015 and has been a starting player for Brisbane City in each of their NRC Premierships. However, with fellow hooker James Hanson having moved to the Melbourne Rebels the young Queenslander will is determined to make the most of his opportunities as he duels with experienced Wallaby Saia Fainga’a for the number two jersey.
In December 2015, Ready was one of 29 young professionals who attended The Rugby Union Players’ Association (RUPA) Induction Camp, held at the Crowne Plaza in Coogee.
RUPA TV caught up with him to talk about his Rugby journey, his biggest influences and what he’d taken out of the Camp, which is designed to help equip the Inductees with the off-field toolkit which will best enable them to find balance in life away from Rugby, be aware of the policies which they are governed by and establish how RUPA can support them as individuals, through Player Development Managers and also through a number of initiatives driven by our Partners.
On behalf of everybody at RUPA, we wish Andrew all the best for the 2016 Super Rugby season and beyond – we’ll be looking on with interest!
