Born and raised on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Blake Enever attended Sunshine Coast Grammar School where he won a First XV premiership and Ballymore Cup title in 2007.
Standing at two metres tall and weighing in at 115kg, Blake is a solid, uncompromising Lock who can easily slot in to the Backrow when required.
Upon completing his schooling, Blake spent a year playing colts with the Sunshine Coast Rugby Club before moving up to grade rugby the following year. It was in 2011 that Blake was selected to represent the Australian U20’s at the Junior World Championships in Italy, lining up alongside future Brumbies' teammates Scott Sio, Siliva Siliva and Jarrad Butler.
In 2012 Blake was rewarded for a string of strong performances when he was offered one of five Extended Playing Squad contracts with the Reds. Jumping at the opportunity to join the defending Champions, Blake stepped up, and his hard work paid off as he made his Super Rugby debut against the Rebels that same year.
Continuing his rapid rise up the Queensland Rugby ranks, Blake faced one of his toughest challenges in 2013 when he found himself lining up for the Combined NSW/QLD Country side that took on the British and Irish Lions.
One of the standout performers for Queensland Country in the NRC, Blake overcame an ongoing elbow injury to help his side win their final four games of the season. Catching the eye of Stephen Larkham and Brumbies coaching staff, Blake signed a fulltime contract with the Brumbies for the 2015 season.
A renowned workhorse who prefers to let his actions do the talking, Blake wasted no time in making an impression on his new teammates with an impressive preseason. His drive and determination didn’t go unnoticed either, with the 23-year-old featuring regularly already this season in a forward pack laden with talent and depth.
Adding a further four Super Rugby caps to his name, Blake made his run-on debut against the Cheetahs in Round Eight of the 2015 season, marking the milestone by scoring his first Super Rugby try. The third player in the Brumbies Squad to hit the two metre mark, Blake has the size and skill-set to establish himself as a Super Rugby regular.
