Just a regular Guy!
Just a regular Guy!

For Guy Millar, it's difficult to hit the nail on the head when it comes to picking where home is! Born in Durban, Souith Africa, Millar and his family moved to Sydney when he was a teenager and he excelled in Rugby at King's School in Parramatta, before joining the (now defunct) NSW State Academy.

His Rugby journey has now taken him west to Perth, where he first ventured as an injury replacement in 2014 and made his Super Rugby debut in 2015. He also spent last winter in the deepest, coldest depths of New Zealand when he turned out for Southland in Invercargill during New Zealand's National Provincial Championship (NPC).

He was in the starting lineup for the Force's first match of 2016 last weekend, taking advantage of injuries which are currently ruling out fellow proprs Tetera Faulkner and Francois van Wyk, and will front up against the Reds at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night in Round Two.

In December 2015, Guy was one of 29 young professionals who attended The Rugby Union Players’ Association (RUPA) Induction Camp, held at the Crowne Plaza in Coogee.

RUPA TV caught up with him to talk about his Rugby journey thus far and what he’d taken out of the Camp, which is designed to help equip the Inductees with the off-field toolkit which will best enable them to find balance in life away from Rugby, be aware of the policies which they are governed by and establish how RUPA can support them as individuals, through Player Development Managers and also through a number of initiatives driven by our Partners.

On behalf of everybody at RUPA, we wish Guy all the best for the 2016 Super Rugby season and beyond – we’ll be looking on with interest!
