Corey captivated the Western Force with his compelling story and invaluable insights during a recent presentation focusing on the importance of networking and personal branding.

Formerly a Major League Baseball (MLB) player, Corey spent a decade playing across seven cities in the USA. He later transitioned back to Australia as an “International rookie” for the West Coast Eagles AFL team, in addition to representing the Perth Heat and Australian national baseball team.

Despite his impressive sporting career, Corey faced unexpected challenges when transitioning out of professional sport as he struggled to find work. Corey’s breakthrough came through leveraging his extensive network and focusing on personal branding. He challenged the players to value networking and personal development, emphasizing that building a strong network and a personal brand is vital for career success, both during and after a sports career.

Western Force Player, Sam Carter

“Corey gave us an honest insight into the struggles professional athletes can face after they finish playing sports, and how the lessons he learned in his athletic career have helped him succeed and find a new identity as a real estate agent.”

Western Force PDM, Scott Hancock

“Corey has a unique journey with relatable experiences. He challenged our group to utilise their networks and continue building their brand, in addition to identifying the opportunities to work on their transferable skills”.
